Membership
The minimum requirement for membership is the degree of Bachelor of Science in economics or business administration achieved in one of the twelve Schools of Economics and Business Administration or comparable university faculties in Finland. If you have graduated abroad, a Master-level examination is normally required in order to become a member.
SEFE consists of 25 regional associations and 13 student societies. These comprise about 32 000 graduated members and over 15 000 students.

How to join
As a new member you join a regional association via SEFE. The membership fee is about 250 euro. This comprises the service fee for SEFE, the fee for the regional association and the payment to the unemployment fund (IAET-kassa). Your membership starts when your application reaches SEFE. You will then receive a notice regarding the fee and your membership data for checking.

Student membership
Student membership in SEFE is open only to students who are studying business administration at a Finnish university. Student membership is free-of-charge. Student members are eligible for privileged benefits and services.
If you study at Helsinki School of Economics, Turku School of Economics or Svenska Handelshögskolan, you are automatically a student member of SEFE.
If you study at a multi-disciplinary university of the economic sciences, membership in SEFE begins the moment you join your own student association.

Members of SEFE
The graduate members are working in different fields of the Finnish economy as follows:
- Manufacturing 26%
- Wholesale and retail trade 11%
- Financial intermediation 13%
- Business services 24%
- Public administration 6%
- Education and research 8%
- Other fields 12%
SEFE particularly represents managerial and professional staff. More than 50 per cent of the members in the labour force are working in leading positions - at the top management or middle management levels in the organizations - or as entrepreneurs.
